Keyboard shortcuts
The shortcuts that work across the site.
On this page · 4 sections
The site works from the keyboard. A few global shortcuts are available on every page; search, menus and charts add their own keys while they have focus. Plain-key shortcuts are ignored while you type in a field, so they never interfere with input.
Everywhere
| Key | Action |
|---|---|
| / | Open the site search. On knowledge-base pages it focuses the page's own search or filter field instead. |
| Ctrl K · ⌘ K | Open the site search — also while typing in a field. |
| ? | Open the knowledge base. |
| Esc | Leave the current field; close the open menu, popover, sheet or search. |
In the search
Results are grouped into articles, glossary terms, FAQ answers, pages and — in the site search — models and GPUs. ↑ and ↓ move through the results, Enter opens the highlighted one at the matching section, Tab cycles the result-type filter and Esc closes the panel. Your recent queries are kept in this browser under one key, gpucalc_search_recent, shared by the site search and the knowledge-base search, so the same list appears in both.
Lists, menus and tabs
- Option lists in the deck panels (precision, runtime, presets): ↑ ↓ to move, Home / End to jump, Enter to pick. The model, HuggingFace and GPU searches take ↑ ↓ and Enter the same way.
- Navigation menus: ↓ opens a menu and moves into it, ↑ ↓ Home End move inside it, Esc closes it.
- Segmented controls and tab rows — the model source tabs, the compare views, Try-it presets in these articles: ← → (and ↑ ↓) switch the selection.
Charts
Charts that you can pick from take focus like any control. On the Optimize map, ← → step along the trade-off line from slower to faster setups and Enter applies the selected one; on the calculator's speed-versus-cost chart they step through the GPUs from slower to faster and Enter picks one. Esc clears the highlighted point. Static figures in these articles scroll sideways inside their own frame on narrow screens.
